A Mission Rooted in Humanity:
The Teahouse serves as a vibrant hub for tea and herbal beverages, hosting events and workshops. Above all, it stands as the inaugural workplace for young individuals who have transitioned from residential care. Their aim is to support young people from troubled social and/or family backgrounds, creating opportunities for independent living and giving them the tools to build themselves personally and professionally. That’s what they do at the Teahouse- they teach healthy habits, job skills, support with vocational courses, car license courses, school completion assistance, and sometimes they even pay health insurance for young mothers.
The teahouse was founded in 2014 by Maya Doneva and Stoyana Stoeva and officially opened a year later. It is located in a beautiful historical house on 53 Preslav Street. The space is spread across several floors: the first floor houses the cozy teahouse with more than 30 types of tea, homemade lemonades, coffee, and other drinks. The second floor is an event space used for workshops, lectures, creative evenings, and community gatherings.
The teahouse is also a community hub, hosting cultural events, volunteer activities, charity initiatives, and creative gatherings. Anyone who wishes can support the cause-by visiting, volunteering, or participating in their projects.
Today, the Social Teahouse remains one of the most inspiring examples of social entrepreneurship in Bulgaria and continues to make a meaningful impact on both the lives of young people and the cultural life of Varna.
