This is the Petrich Kale Fortress. The Roman fortification Petrich Kale, which has remained impervious and enigmatic even to researchers, is poised to transform into a captivating tourist destination. It is situated st the end of the town of Petrich. Petrich Kale lies in close proximity to the city of Varna, being a mere 20-minute drive separating the two.

The castle was constructed on the periphery of the Avrensko plateau, offering a splendid panoramic vista over the entire Devne basin and the Provadiyska River basin.

Tourists should visit the stronghold because it is a rare example, particularly in the northern region of Stara Planina, where life has remained uninterrupted for many years, spanning from the Roman era to the late Middle Ages. Furthermore, the stronghold has remained completely intact and, because to its geographical position, it has been spared from the extraction of construction materials, a fate that has befallen many Bulgarian fortifications such as Preslav and Pliska, located in the plain and now nearly ruined.
