Varna Art Gallery has departments of painting, graphics and sculpture, aiming at showing the best by all Varna artists, as well as by most of Bulgaria’s other leading masters.

Varna Art Gallery comprises sections for painting, graphics, and sculpture, with the goal of displaying the greatest work by all Varna artists as well as the majority of Bulgaria’s other notable masters. The chronological arrangement traces the evolution of Bulgarian graphic arts from the early twentieth century to the present. It was opened on September 18, 1885.
Since 1979, the Gallery has hosted an international graphics biennial. The former boys’ high school that now houses the Art Gallery is an excellent mock Gothic structure with three floors and 3,000 square meters of display area.
The Gallery has works by prominent Bulgarian artists, a superb collection of seascapes by Varna artists, and a significant collection of 17th century German and Dutch painters. The large auditorium of the Gallery has great acoustics, and poetry or chamber music might be performed there.
Varna Gallery continues to acquire significant works by Bulgarian and international artists to its collection, increasing its popularity and importance in the city’s cultural life.
Boris Georgiev Art Gallery now incorporates culture from the past and present and serves as a great bridge to the future.
