
George Velchev was one of the best masters of seascapes in Bulgaria and the Museum Georgi Velchev was established in 1991 when it was given as a present to Varna city from relatives of the famous artist.
Renovated in 1995 the museum having been donated to the city by relatives of the artist wishing to see his life’s work displayed for public consumption.
The exhibition itself is split into two parts two rooms are set aside for the permanent works of the artist of which there are around 240 in all to be displayed. The second part is made up of another three rooms and these are offered to temporary displays from other artists.
